Australian Best Practice Environmental Management in Mining
This site is maintained by Environment Australia with information about the status of its Best Practice Environmental Management in Mining program. Mine Environment Neutral Drainage (MEND 2000)
Through the MEND programme, Canadian mining companies and provincial and federal departments have reduced the liability due to acidic drainage by at least $400 million. MEND was implemented to develop and apply new technologies to prevent and control acidic drainage.
