AMEEF is a non-profit, non-political independent body established to promote the environmentally responsible development of Australia' minerals and energy resources.

The CSE is based in New Delhi, India.  It carries out policy research, communications and public awareness raising, campaigns and lobbying activities, and publishes documents.

bulletEnvironmental Mining Council of British Columbia
This web site covers issues relevant to protecting the environment of British Columbia, Canada, from mining. It also includes general information about mining, such as guidelines for a good mine, acid mine drainage and mining in Chile.

IIED is an independent, non-profit organisation with a mission to promote sustainable patterns of world development through collaborative research, policy studies, consensus building and public information.

bulletIUCN (World Conservation Union)
IUCN is one of the world’s largest conservation organisations. It is a global network of networks, with over 900 governmental and non-governmental members from 138 countries. It has some mining-related activities, though is concerned with a broad range of environmental issues.

Institute of the Americas' programs concentrate on political, regulatory, and economic trends affecting the industry in the major Latin American mining countries, focusing specifically on: (1) clarifying and simplifying property rights negotiations and enforcement; (2) reducing overlapping federal and sub-federal licensing requirements and regulations; (3) improving relationships with local communities on issues relating to the provision of local infrastructure; and (4) development of models for successful management of long term environmental issues, including: mine closure and reclamation; innovative information technologies; and management techniques.
