TIN ORE EXPORT BAN

Mining Journal - 18 January 2002 - Indonesia is expected to implement a ban on tin ore exports by the end of this month. A draft decree is with the relevant Minister, awaiting his signature. The ban is designed to reduce illegal tin mining, which cannot produce tin metal. Earlier this month, local newspapers reported that the government was considering the ban.
